My first Etegami

Hello, its been a long time since I blogged. The summer hols seemed to go on forever and I just cannot find peace to be creative when I have 2 energetic boys bouncing off the walls. We had good times and
a lovely holiday in France.

My youngest started school last week, this marks a huge turning point in our lives.

I now have time to sit at my table (very messy at the moment) and let the energy gather in my brain and transfer into my hand and onto the paper.  To get me started I have produced my first ever Etegami post card. Etegami is a Japanese art form, meaning word picture. It is usually done on a postcard and mailed off to a friend.
One of the blogs I visit is etegamibydosankodebbie.blogspot.co.uk. I was delighted the the other day to receive a beautiful etegami card from Debbie.
In return I have painted this to send back to her in Japan.
I am quite pleased with it, it is a great departure for me from my usual tight style with a fine tip or dip pen. I will definately be painting more of these in the future.
