Illustration Friday: Pre-historic

I have almost fallen off the edge of bloggy world, but this weeks IF prompt caught my eye as they are giving away a lush set of pens, tho I doubt if they would send them to Scotland.
I like drawing dinosaurs!

Illustration Friday: Energy

This week's Illustration Friday prompt is Energy. My boys have bucket loads of it and here is a scene of our family life. Our living room is always chaos, I only wish I had the energy to tidy up!

Illustration Friday: Together

This is inspired by my boys when they shared a bunk bed. They are still together, but now in single beds. It is strange how they grow up so gradually and yet so quickly at the same time. Being a mother gives you such a mixture of emotions, feeling the need to have time to onesself but also trying to freeze their childhood and cherish it. Mothers amongst you will know what I am talking about!

My first Etegami

Hello, its been a long time since I blogged. The summer hols seemed to go on forever and I just cannot find peace to be creative when I have 2 energetic boys bouncing off the walls. We had good times and
a lovely holiday in France.

My youngest started school last week, this marks a huge turning point in our lives.

I now have time to sit at my table (very messy at the moment) and let the energy gather in my brain and transfer into my hand and onto the paper.  To get me started I have produced my first ever Etegami post card. Etegami is a Japanese art form, meaning word picture. It is usually done on a postcard and mailed off to a friend.
One of the blogs I visit is etegamibydosankodebbie.blogspot.co.uk. I was delighted the the other day to receive a beautiful etegami card from Debbie.
In return I have painted this to send back to her in Japan.
I am quite pleased with it, it is a great departure for me from my usual tight style with a fine tip or dip pen. I will definately be painting more of these in the future.
